Daphne Guinness is at it again! Following her “getting dressed for the Met Ball” performance in the windows of Barneys last year, the heiress will be playing mannequin again for a display entitled Visions Couture – except this time, she won’t actually be there (Diderich, 2012).

Paris department store Printemps has joined forces with Guinness and photographer Nick Knight‘s SHOWstudio to create virtual mannequins of the socialite for their window displays, using photographic images rendered by 3D scanning technology.

These Guinness mannequins, or “Guinnequins” if you will, will model Guinness’ enviable haute couture collection and looks by Rick Owens, Gareth Pugh, Paco Rabanne, Junya Watanabe, and Maison Martin Margiela as part of the Visions Couture display. Expect an avant-garde fête for the eyes.
Alongside the Guinnequin, each window will feature a short fashion movie of the outfit shot by Knight and an interactive presentation by multimedia artist Danny Brown, using images submitted by you and me.

Update (Feb. 7): SHOWstudio just released a video with Guinness singing opera in Gareth Pugh. The video will be on view at Le Printemps along with the Guinnequins.
